Born and raised in Houston, Adriana Banks worked in several careers before becoming a real-estate agent, all of which prepared her for helping clients buy and sell homes. A certified landman, she was employed by an oil-and-gas company for two years—an experience that fostered her love of the land. Eventually, she started a PR department at that company, and later worked as a fund-raiser. Both positions helped her refine her people, sales and business skills.
Adriana grew up in the Briargrove neighborhood, where she currently lives, and is very familiar with this area, as well as with Tanglewood, River Oaks, Afton Oaks, Oak Estates, Lynn Park, Memorial and Memorial Heights. Half-Mexican, she is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Italian. After attending St. Francis Episcopal Day School for 12 years, Adriana graduated from Tulane University, where she majored in general business, with an emphasis in marketing and consumer behaviors, and minored in Spanish. Her real-estate clients compliment her compassion, flexibility, understanding and ability to efficiently get the job done, with a positive attitude. “When I say I will do something, I always following through,” she says.
Adriana is from a large family and owns a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Mateo. She cites her biggest influence as her grandfather Eduardo, who started several banks in Mexico and possessed “the perfect combination of business savvy and compassion.” Her hobbies include yoga, running, riding, charity, travel and photography. Active in the local community, Adriana supports multiple charities, including the March of Dimes. Doing so “gives me inner strength and confidence, and helps me remember the big picture in life,” she says.
