Emily Mitchell Covey
Broker Associate

Third generation REALTOR® and native Houstonian Emily Mitchell Covey knows Houston's neighborhoods well. While she enjoys working in those where she has lived—Briargrove, Memorial, Tanglewood, River Oaks and Montrose—she also focuses on the Heights, Rice/Southampton and West University areas.
"One of my favorite things about being a REALTOR® is getting to see the older Houston homes that have been lovingly maintained or restored," Emily says. She is passionate about her own 1920s bungalow in the Cherryhurst subdivision of Montrose, which she maintains (and often blogs on the subject) but did not restore. "I hope to one day breathe life into an older home myself."
Emily keeps her clients' #1 goal in focus at all times. One client called her "a real Johnny-on-the-spot." In 2009, one of the toughest on the books, Emily was named a Top Producer for John Daugherty, Realtors—the luxury firm's youngest.
Real estate was a natural career choice for Emily, as it runs in her family. Her grandmother founded Dallas' Paula Stringer Realtors (now Coldwell Banker Dallas/Fort Worth), and her mother and working partner, Kay S. (Mitchell) Holmes, is a successful REALTOR® in her own right, having practiced in Houston for almost 25 years. Emily knows she is lucky to be able to draw from the experiences of her mother and grandmother. This, combined with her drive and fresh perspective, makes working with Emily a no-brainer.
Emily graduated from The Kinkaid School. She then earned a degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a certification in Business Foundations and a minor in Spanish. She is conversationally fluent, having studied abroad both in Guanajuato, Mexico, and Granada, Spain. Before becoming a REALTOR®, Emily worked in magazine publishing in San Francisco, New York City and Houston.
While Emily's baby girl keeps her busy as a new mom, she is never too busy to help clients buy and sell homes. She enjoys perusing antiques markets, playing golf, traveling the world with her husband and their camera, and visiting wineries and craft breweries. She also supports local charitable organizations such as the Buffalo Bayou Partnership and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Lone Star Chapter.
