Kay S. Mitchell Holmes has been a licensed Realtor since 1970, when she moved to Houston after graduating from the University of Texas. Kay was born in Dallas, where she grew up around real estate. Her mother founded Dallas' Paula Stringer Realtors and encouraged her to get her real estate license. Now Kay's daughter, Emily Mitchell Covey, is also in real estate, and they are working partners at John Daugherty, Realtors.

Kay specializes in the Tanglewood, Memorial, River Oaks, Briargrove and West University neighborhoods. She enjoys working with first-time home buyers as well as her legions of satisfied past clients. An expert negotiator, Kay strives to make buyers and sellers satisfied at closing.

Kay was named a "Top Producer" at John Daugherty in 2003. She works with integrity, loyalty, empathy and patience. "Some of my clients take years to make a decision," Kay says. "I do not pressure them. I want them to be very happy."

When not selling real estate, Kay generously gives of her time to a number of organizations, including the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she sits on the Development Board, the UT School of Nursing, the UT School of Public Health, The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research Foundation (TIRR) and the Chinquapin School. She enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with her family, dogs and new grandbaby!
