A native Houstonian who grew up in the Clear Lake area, Vicki Garcia has been a licensed Realtor since 1989. She is a current resident of The Greenway Condominiums and specializes in Houston neighborhoods including West University, Bellaire and Upper Kirby.
Prior to becoming a Realtor, Vicki worked as an insurance agent. “Insurance sales is very much a relationship-building industry, and so is real estate,” she says. In both professions, her outgoing nature, trustworthiness, consideration and good listening skills helped her excel. “Being a good listener helps you give your clients what they need and want,” she says. “I want clients for life—perhaps multiple generations.” She has a client-first philosophy.
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how she works.
That said, in her experience as a Houston real estate professional, she has also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting her clients first. This means keeping herself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to clients’ needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been her approach and it requires her to continually improve her skills and ways of doing business. In addition, she has found that the latest technologies are enabling her to do everything she’s always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped her to extend the range of services she provides to her clients.
Vicki is married and has a daughter, Jennifer and two sons, Keefer and William. An animal enthusiast, she owns a Maltese named Tito. Her hobbies including working out, traveling, shopping and serving on the Houston Rodeo Ladies’ Go Texan committee. Members serve as show ambassadors through special public-relations efforts and educational exhibits. “Watching the kids enjoy the animals at the rodeo is very heartwarming,” she says.
